Packaging Between Innovation and Sustainability
Our CEO, Fulvio Cavazzini, took part in the television program “Mezz’ora d’economia”. The conversation started from packaging—primarily primary packaging—to explore a broader transformation: that of companies capable of innovating and creating value not only for the market, but also for communities and people.
As with other companies before ALCE, Confartigianato Lombardia identified ALCE—also thanks to its 55 years of presence in both national and international markets—as a key interlocutor. Together, they addressed and analyzed both highly specialized topics, such as technological innovation in the cosmetics, food, and pharmaceutical sectors, as well as broader themes like social responsibility and corporate responsibility.
The program aired on March 17, 2026, on Telelombardia and is also available to watch online at the following link . Both the contributions of Stefano Bruni, Secretary General of Confartigianato Pavia, and Fulvio Cavazzini offered (follows)

insightful perspectives and interpretations that move beyond stereotypes, expressed with openness and candor.
Behind a cosmetic or pharmaceutical bottle—as well as a food container found on store shelves—lies a process far more complex than it may appear. It involves rigorous testing, material analysis, product stability studies, and constant attention to safety and long-term preservation. Packaging is, in fact, a highly specialized manufacturing field where technological expertise, design, and corporate responsibility converge.
This landscape was the focus of a recent episode of Mezz’ora di Economia, broadcast on Telelombardia.
Starting from the Lombardy region—and more specifically the Pavia area—the program highlighted how small and medium-sized enterprises can successfully compete on global markets by leveraging specialization, innovation, and quality. Among the guests featured in the studio was ALCE Pack—a company founded in the 1970s in Siziano, now active in the development and production of glass and plastic containers, as well as customized closure systems for various sectors including cosmetics, food, and pharmaceuticals—together with Confartigianato Pavia. The discussion provided a broad perspective on local economic dynamics and the support available to SMEs with an international outlook.
Packaging, in fact, goes beyond its purely technical function: it plays a key role in shaping product identity, strengthening brand recognition, and addressing the growing demand for environmental sustainability. Evolving regulations and increasing attention to material usage—particularly plastics—are pushing companies to rethink processes, design choices, and industrial investments. At the same time, the core function of packaging remains essential: to protect and preserve the product, ensuring stability, quality, and safety for the end consumer.
Guests in the studio included Fulvio Cavazzini, CEO of ALCE Pack, and Stefano Bruni, Secretary General of Confartigianato Pavia, hosted by Roberta Cassina and Livia Ronca.
